Currently, we're proud to cultivate two in-house brands and collaborate with two additional brands that align with our values and quality standards. Looking ahead, we're excited about expanding our offerings with more thrilling additions.
Our in-house brands, Tátudo and Clara Melo, come to life in our cozy atelier located in Figueira da Foz. Here, Clara enjoys complete creative freedom and the luxury of time to design and craft the initial pieces by hand.
When it comes to sourcing raw materials, Portugal is our primary playground. We place great emphasis on natural, high-quality materials that are produced ethically and under favorable working conditions, always seeking out small and traditional businesses. We also source select fabrics from Angola and Morocco, where our focus remains on local businesses and premium quality materials.
After crafting the initial piece with the perfect material, we partner with small, local businesses known for their expertise and keen attention to quality and detail. Our approach means many of our products are available in limited quantities, with certain fabrics being so unique they're offered as limited editions.
Once complete, the products return to our atelier for a final quality inspection before we prepare them for shipping.
Sourcing within Portugal
In Portugal, our partnership with Season has been instrumental. Since 2019, Season has been creating home comforts that embody quality and environmental responsibility. Almost exclusively producing in Portugal, Season offers high-quality products with a strong emphasis on sustainable practices, utilizing GOTS-certified materials and BCI cotton. Located just a stone's throw away, Season not only shares our physical space but our core business values as well.
Moroccan Product Sourcing
Our Moroccan collection is the result of a collaboration with a family from the Atlas Mountains. Their production process is intimately small and steeped in tradition. During our initial visit, it felt as though we'd stepped back in time, marveling at the family's harmonious work ethic, reminiscent of a simpler era we often overlook in the modern world.
Our Materials: A Closer Look
Linen: From the Linaceae family, linen is cherished for its natural, breathable fibers, derived from an extensive process that includes harvesting, seed removal, and meticulous preparation for spinning. Its cultivation and processing, rooted in either manual or mechanical methods, reflect our commitment to sustainable practices and natural beauty.
Cotton: A staple of versatility and durability, cotton's care involves simple practices that ensure longevity and preserve its natural qualities. From bedding to bath towels, our cotton products are designed for easy care, embodying both comfort and sustainability.
Wool: Harvested from sheep and other animals, wool's unique properties, such as its natural crimp and lanolin content, offer unparalleled warmth and water resistance. Our woolen products are a testament to timeless craftsmanship, marrying the natural insulation of wool with the breathability needed for diverse climates.
